Busia will present a strong volleyball team in the KSSSA boys’ final today, either Butula or Katakwa. The two are set to meet in a mouthwatering semi-final whose winner will square it out with either Namwela or Malava in the final.
Katakwa booked their place in the last four by edging Vihiga 3-2 (25-21, 18-25, 25-10, 25-27, 15-10). Butula did great stuff, winning 3-2 against former national and East Africa champions Malava Boys and then 3-0 against Wabukhonyi.
The semis girls’ will feature Lugulu Girls vs Butere in the first and Miruri facing Mwitoti in the second.
Butula and Katakwa’s performance, commended Busia Woman Representative Catherine Omanyo, is outstanding and a pride to the county since it ensures a team reaches the finals.
“This achievement highlights the rich talent in Busia, which can open many opportunities,” said Omanyo. She promised future support toward high performing teams as they can bring glory to the county.
