CS Machogu Officiates Tana River’s Garsen Education Day: A Milestone for Educational Development

Garsen Education Day was a mega event for Tana River County which was attended by CS Ezekiel Machogu of Education. Represented jointly at this event was an array of local education professionals, Members of Parliament, MCAs, and school principals, signifying a collective approach towards the betterment of education in the region.

CS Machogu reminded the audiences about the significance of education days in all learning institutions. He reiterated, “That day offers a chance for stakeholders to reassess their steps towards progress and achievements made in the educational sector.” They offer an avenue for recognizing and rewarding performances.

“In the recognition of performers, as pacesetters in the education sector, we are able to set standards and chart the way forward for a better future. Education is recognized as being the most critical resource in the country,” said Machogu.

One of the activities that took place is the handing over of a school bus to Garsen School, which was funded through the NG-CDF. It served as a clear pointer towards government’s commitment in enhancing facilities and ensuring students are well-equipped with learning materials.

The Garsen MP, Ali Wario Hashaka, who was also present at the function, said that his NG-CDF office has given much priority to educational development. He declared that education was the backbone of development and assured its continuous support for educational initiatives.

“We know that education is the base and foundation of any development, which is why my development committee chose to give it priority,” said Wario.

He promised to finance students from poor backgrounds to ensure they attain quality education. He urged his NG-CDF committee members to be fair, open, and transparent in the distribution of bursary funds among applicants.

Wario further appealed to the students to remain disciplined through self-control, saying this will determine their future success.
