Emurrua Dikirr Constituency Benefits from Sh41 Million Bursary Fund

Vulnerable Learners in Emurrua Dikirr Constituency are set to benefit from the Sh41 million bursary awarded to the contituents through the National Government Constituency Development Fund.

The area MP, Johannah Ngeno, said the bursary targets many children in need who are in secondary schools, colleges, and universities, adding that no child will stay at home due to a lack of school fees.

Ngeno said that when he came to office in 2013, there were very few schools within the constituency and children were not benefiting from the bursary, which resulted in poor performance in the National examination.

“In 2013, only nine students qualified to join the university. However, since we started building schools and issuing bursaries, the number of children from this constituency that join universities is increasing,” he said.

He added that the bursary gave a chance to the vulnerable and needy children to acquire education and become professionals in future life.

The function was attended by Governor Patrick Ntutu, Narok County MP Rebecca Tonkei, Narok North MP Agnes Pareyio, Kilgoris MP Julius Sunkuli, and Narok South MP Kitalai Ntutu.

Governor Ntutu recalled that the county government gave out Sh400 million this year to the needy children in the county, which greatly helped kids from poor backgrounds to get education.

Additionally, the governor indicated that in Emurrua Dikirr constituency, he gave a total of Sh. 45 million this year as bursary to boost education in that area.
