Ereteti Mixed Secondary School Receives Computers to Promote ICT Learning

The Ministry of Education donated 10 computers to Ereteti Mixed Secondary School in Kajiado County, geared towards the integration of ICT learning and bridging the digital divide in the education system in Kenya.

These computers were handed over during the AGM of the school which was attended by parents, students, teachers, and other important stakeholders in the institution. The event was in celebration of the school’s progress and outlined plans for the future in a bid to foster a sense of community and collaboration.

The chief guest was Mr. Abdulaziz A. Farah, a Commissioner at the National Cohesion and Integration Commission. He outlined the work of the Commission that is being undertaken countrywide and called for patriotism and unity in the face of diversity in the nation. Farah called on the students to view success as a continuous process and shared his own challenges in education, rising to become one of the best in some of the top national institutions.

The school principal, Paul Halake, was optimistic that the school was heading in a positive direction and thanked them in advance for continued collaboration in performance and infrastructure. The Office of the Governor of Kajiado County Director of Communication, Paul Tobiko—an Ereteti pioneer student—called upon the students to surpass expectations and strive for greatness.

The chairman of the Board of Management, Jeremiah Sailoji, expressed confidence in the future of the school and urged all stakeholders to actively participate in building a harmonious and supportive environment. Contributions during the AGM were also made by the KCB Kiserian branch team, partnering with the school in planting trees and generally improving green spaces within the community.

The AGM was one more step up the ladder towards changing education outcomes and community engagement at Ereteti Mixed Secondary School.
