Govt Announces 4,000 Internship Positions Under Affordable Housing Program: How to Apply

The State Department of Housing and Urban Development has announced 4,000 internship positions for Kenyan graduates under the Affordable Housing Program. This is part of President William Ruto’s plan to build 200,000 homes annually as part of addressing the country’s housing crisis.

Program Overview

The SDHUD internship program shall be offered to young professionals with a view to engaging them in the built environment and related fields. During the internship period, the successful applicants shall be engaged in hands-on activities in a number of key areas, which include:

Eligibility Criteria

The minimum eligibility for application shall be a first degree in any of the above disciplines. During the 12 months’ internship, interns shall be remunerated based on Public Service Commission guidelines. Interns attached to registered professionals shall maintain work portfolios which contribute to their professional examination and registration. Upon successful completion of the internship, a certificate shall be issued.
