KNEC Art and Craft Instructions for 2024 UDPTE and UDECTE

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has outlined instructions that should act as a guide for teachers intending to undertake 2024 Upgrade Programmes in the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (UDPTE) as well as Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (UDECTE) Summative Assessment in Art and Craft.

This year, the assessment will be divided into two parts: a Theory paper that accounts for 60%, and a Portfolio assessment which makes up the remaining 40%.

For the portfolio assessment, they must log in to Teacher Education portal from this link: https://www.itpd.ac.ke/udpte/. In 2024 Art and Craft Assessment section, there is a document you can download for guidelines.

The trainers of teacher trainees have the duty to lead in portfolio organization as per the scoring guide, stressing on keeping private about assessment-related papers.

Teachers who train other teachers must follow the given guidelines. They need to understand and explain the advanced rules for portfolio assessment, ensuring that they are followed exactly as specified.

Every trainee should compile a portfolio and keep it up to date for the assessment. According to the guidelines, those interested in upgrading need to understand the mode of assessment so they can prepare adequately for evaluation.

The assessment will start on May 24, 2024, and finish by July 10, 2024. After this assessment period, the scores must be promptly uploaded online by the teacher trainers. KNEC is verifying that all trainee scores are accurate and progressing as expected.

All involved parties should facilitate and ensure strict adherence to the given instructions so that the evaluation process can proceed smoothly.
