Koderobara High School Clinches Migori County Football Title, Set to Represent the County in Nyanza Regionals

Koderobara High School booked a chance to represent Migori County in the forthcoming Nyanza Region Secondary Schools Sports Association Term Two games. The games are set to go down from July 9 to 13 at Kisii School and Cardinal Otunga High School. Koderobara shall compete in the football category following their narrow 1-0 win over Korwa Mixed Secondary School.

The Decisive Match

The crucial match was held at the Isebania KRA grounds. It had been postponed from the initial date until Saturday. The game had been delayed because of crowd control at Kubweye Mixed Secondary School in Mabera Sub-county; this was after fans refused to clear the pitch. Amid all the chaos, Koderobara High emerged victorious, courtesy of Felix Casilas, who notched the winning goal for his team.

Preparation and Aspirations

Koderobara’s coach Jacob Aloo said they were ready to do their best in regional and national championships. “Our target is to feature in the East Africa Secondary Schools Championships set for Uganda,” Aloo said. Likening their chances to what past winners have achieved, he said, “Last year, Agoro Sare upset the formbook to win the regional title. I believe we can also do it. We have prepared well for the regional championships.”

Other Representatives from Migori County

Netball and Volleyball

  • Oyugi Ogango Girls Secondary will represent the county in netball.
  • Sagegi Mixed will compete in boys’ volleyball, while Kameji Mixed will participate in girls’ volleyball.

Soccer and Rugby

  • Migori Education Center will represent the county in girls’ soccer.
  • Friends School Anjego and St Joseph’s Rapogi High School will compete in Rugby 7s for boys.
  • Friends School Anjego and Kamagambo Day will represent the county in girls’ Rugby 7s.

Looking Ahead to the Regional Games

The Nyanza Region Secondary Schools Sports Association Term Two games are going to be very competive. It shall see schools from across the region converge at Kisii School and Cardinal Otunga High School, with hopes, dreams, and rigorous preparations.

For Koderobara High, the road to this moment has been one of determination and resilience in spirit, with which, there’s no doubt, will see them through the upcoming regional championships. Under the strategic guidance of their coach Aloo, and an assurance from the players, Koderobara seeks to stamp authority in this year’s event and probably book a slot in the nationals and eventually at the East Africa Secondary Schools Championships in Uganda.
