Marsabit ECDE Coordinators and Program Officers Embrace Digital Curriculum Training

More than 20 Marsabit Early Childhood Development Education Coordinators are currently undertaking digital curriculum training at the Saku Youth Empowerment Centre. An initiative of the county government in partnership with EIDU Kenya, the exercise targets equipping coordinators with digital skills for better teaching and learning at ECDE centers.

Digital Learning for Quality Education

Qabale Adhi Bulbul, the County Chief Officer Education, said the digital learning experience was one significant way that would ensure access to quality education and teachers’ preparedness to face challenges associated with the digital age. She added that the initiative would be an essential tool for easy integration of technology in all operations in the county’s education sector.

Uniform Lesson Delivery

Uniform lesson planning to be delivered through the support of digital devices shall now be implemented across all ECDE centers across the county. She expressed optimism that digital learning would reduce poor enrollment and minimize absenteeism of the younger learners in the county.

Quality ECDE Education

The administration of Governor Mohamud Ali is committed to improving the quality of ECDE education. Among others, it has put in place the school feeding program, confirmed the terms of service of ECDE teachers as permanent and pensionable, and is renovating infrastructure in ECDE centers and enhancing learning materials.

Monitoring Learning Outcomes

The county’s director of education said digital curriculum training has been conducted with an objective that learning outcomes in children were monitored and, hence, support based on data in decision-making during policy formulation for education.

Partnership for Educational Advancement.

According to officials from EIDU Kenya, the partnership shall continue to be fruitful in supporting the county government’s goals and policies on education through digital learning interventions. Such a strategic partnership is for the actualization of provision of quality learning accessible to all learners through the provision of adaptive learning content and monitoring tools.

Technology-Enhanced Learning

EIDU’s technology-enabled platform has integrated high-impact intervention to assist teachers, pupils, and government officials in providing quality education. The platform aids in effective lesson planning, fast-tracking of learning, and performance tracking at the school and classroom levels.

The presence of the partnership with the Marsabit County government and EIDU Kenya is one big step towards leveraging technology in improving education outcomes and promoting equitable access to quality education within the region.
