Ministry of Education To Ensure University Admission for All Qualified Students Despite Financial Constraints

The Ministry of Education has confirmed that all eligible students will secure admission to the universities regardless of their ability to meet the necessary household contribution. This assurance was detailed in a press release issued on August 21 2024 and endorsed by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba.

University Vice Chancellors (VCs) have been instructed by the Ministry to admit all students without any exceptions. Furthermore VCs have been tasked with organizing accommodation for first year students with the understanding that fees will be covered once the maintenance component is provided. The Ministry is actively collaborating with the National Treasury to accelerate the disbursement of these funds.

These actions underscore the governments dedication to ensuring that every deserving student can pursue education without being hindered by challenges. Students facing fee related concerns are advised to contact university support teams during admissions or via the Higher Education Portal.

Moreover the Ministry has extended the deadline for financial aid applications until December 31 2024 allowing students extra time in case of any delays. Appeals will be reviewed within three weeks from submission date guaranteeing assistance for those, in need.
