The Ministry of Education has rolled out a mini reshuffle that will see a good number of Sub-County Directors of Education transferred. The SCDE, Kisii County, Kenyenya George Ouma, has been transferred to Borabu in Nyamira County.
Gladys Otieno is set to take over the mantle from Ouma, who has served for over seven years. In his farewell speech on Tuesday, Ouma lauded head teachers, especially David Osoro of Motive Secondary School, for cooperating with him. He noted their milestone – posting the best examination results in Kisii County – and urged them to continue working closely with Otieno in improving education standards.
Shem Odhiambo, the TSC Kenyenya SCDE, pledged to work closely with Otieno and head teachers in improving academic excellence in the region.
With the changes, it remained unconfirmed who would replace Otieno in Migori Sub County and the outgoing Borabu SCDE at the time of going to press.
