MP Joshua Kandie Pledges Sh3 Million to Kabarnet High School for Modernization

Baringo Central MP, Joshua Kandie, has pledged Sh3 million towards the uplifting of Kabarnet High School. While addressing the school’s AGM and Thanksgiving, Kandie said his contribution, as an alumnus in the school, would be channeled towards modernizing the aging dormitory and classrooms.

According to Kandie, the school is supposed to expand due to the increasing population. He called upon students to work hard and cooperate with the parents and teachers in trying to see their dreams to completion. Kandie also promised to engage the KENHA in the construction of a footbridge that is to link the school to the upper field, which is currently separated from the institution by the Kabarnet-Marigat highway, thus posing danger to the students.

The chief guest, Regional Director of Education Milton Nzioka, asked parents to continue cooperating with the school in its continued development. He said Sh27 million was needed to complete the new classrooms and thus appealed to the parents to offer financial support to complete the work in a month’s time. Nzioka also joined in awarding top-performing students in last year’s examinations with various gifts, such as briefcases and money, to act as an incentive for the current students.

Elaborating on a recent incident at the Secondary Regional Games in Bomet, Baringo County Director of Education Masibo Kituyi said that the school was suffered consequences for fielding a player not listed in the county records. Baringo County Director of Education Masibo Kituyi explained that the school was thrown out of the Ball Games for parading a player whose name was not registered in the country’s books.
Chairman of the School’s Board Management Lawrence Kibet revealed that the school had set a target mean score of 9.5 in the coming examinations to better the 6.9 mean score attained last year.

This great donation and communal efforts are geared toward changing the infrastructure and academic performance of Kabarnet High School for a better learning environment for its students.
