Murang’a Technical Training Institute Shines in Mount Kenya West KATTI Sports Competitions

Murang’a Technical Training Institute performed outstandingly in the just concluded Mount Kenya West Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI) Sports competitions and managed to secure the best position overall. The men’s soccer team failed at the semi-finals and was placed third in the play-offs, while the ladies’ football team also settled for third place in the tournament. A total of 17 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions participated.

The sporting events were held at the Nyandarua National Polytechnic where best perming teams would be selected to represent the region at the national level later on in the year. It was a milestone achievement for Murang’a TTI and an indication of how hard the students and staff were working.

Preparation for Future Competitions

The KATTI event allowed Murang’a TTI to prepare for the nationals of which the TVET intitutions plans to do even better in major sporting activities beyond its training programs. The success at Mount Kenya West KATTI has since instilled a sense of optimism and ambition among the students and staff.

Participants thanked their college for the opportunity to compete and pledged to try even harder as they move forward. “We do appreciate our administration for giving us opportunity to train in various sporting activities that has equipped us to compete with other TVET institutions in this region. We promise to achieve more in the future”, said one student.

Administrative Support

Principal of Murang’a TTI Robin Wachira, congratulated them for the hard work and for being very participative. He urged them to continue working hard as they are set to win big in the following season.
