National Junior Secondary School Conference to Be Held at Tenwek Boys High School

A national four-day conference for JSS students opens tomorrow at Tenwek Boys High School in Bomet County. The August 3rd to 7th conference is a crucial preparatory step towards the roll-out of Senior Schooling in 2026.

Conference Overview:

The conference was organized by the Ministry of Education, through KICD. Tenwek High School Principal Mutali Chesebe says this is important for Grade 7 and 8 learners. He emphasized the teachers’ role in the critical stage of preparing students for the subsequent stages of education.

Key Highlights:

  1. The Conference is set to receive learners from different schools in Kenya, both in Grade 7 and 8.
  2. This will be attended by participating schools from Nairobi, Western, Kisumu, and Uasin Gishu.
  3. The meeting is meant to guide the transition of the students to Senior School in 2026. It shall offer insights and strategies for preparation to the students and teachers. Special Guests:
  4. Among the special guests expected to grace the occasion include renowned education personalities, key among them retired principals and KICD officers. Being a national school, Tenwek Boys High School has adequate facilities to accommodate all participants. The conference continues in the very best traditions of earlier symposia held at Alliance High School.
