Ololulunga Boys Secondary School from Narok South Sub-county booked a ticket to the Rift Valley Regional games of the Kenya Secondary School Sports Association following an intense football duel with Oldonyorok Secondary from Transmara West, which ended 2-1 in their favor. The county games took place over the weekend in the Narok Boys’ grounds and were very competitive; Ololulunga Boys bagged the final.
The encounter was hosted by Narok Boys and Masai Girls. Olmelil Secondary, Transmara West, emerged victorious in the girls’ category following a 4-1 penalty shootout win against Rongena Secondary following a goal-less regular time.
The referees and coaches who tried to ensure fair play and shunned any malpractices that would open ways for misbehaving by the game players were highly commended. County KSSSA chairman Kipkemoi Maritim appreciated the good work from the event sponsors and lauded the players for throwing their best into the games. He emphasized the essence of giving all the players an equal opportunity to compete and put light on the nurturing talent to represent the region at the national level.
KSSSA County Secretary, Jacob Barusa, asked the winning teams to train comprehensively for the regional games, and further asked the Ministry of Education to put netball for boys in its itinerary for expansion of sporting activities among male students.
