President William Ruto has committed to purchasing school uniform for every student in the recently established Lenana School Primary.
When the school was officially opened by the Head of State, the head of state promised to buy uniform for all new students who were admitted and have kept on learning while waiting for their new uniform.
“Each child who comes here for the first time, I will buy uniform and shoes. This children come here with uniform from other schools, the other one come with home clothes. But even before the uniform arrives, these children should continue learning,” he said. He also pledged to sponsor new classroom construction that will be completed in next two months.
“I’m the one who has promised to construct those new classrooms, not the ministry. And I will build those 24 classrooms. This contractor will start their work today, so within the next two months I’ll come back for commissioning,” president Ruto promised.
During the event, there were also Cabinet secretaries Kithure Kindiki (Interior) and Ezekiel Machogu (Education), many Principal secretaries, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, and area MP John Kiarie.
