Sameta High Cleared to Participate in Nyanza Region Secondary School Games

A jury that sat and heard a case filed against Sameta at the Kisii County Director of Education office, dismissed an appeal that had been filed by Ong’icha Secondary School and thus allowed Sameta High School’s boys’ football team to represent Kisii County at the Nyanza Regional Secondary Schools Term Two games. This decision was arrived at following a ruling by the Kisii County Secondary Sports Association.

Appeal Dismissed After Thorough Investigations

Ong’icha Secondary School had earlier filed an appeal contesting the eligibility of one of the Sameta players. The said appeal was nevertheless rejected by the jury chaired by Geoffrey Nyantika, the secretary of KSSSA Kisii County, following investigations by the Ministry of Education officials, who visited Sameta High and established that the player in question was a real student.
