Sameta High School Clinches Kisii County Boys’ Football Title

There was an exciting display of football prowess that saw Sameta High School emerge champions in the Kisii County Secondary School games boys’ football title. The final match pitted Sameta High against Ong’icha at Nduru Boys, whom they trounced with an outstanding victory of 4-0.

The Road to Victory

Key Players and Performance

Sameta’s victory was inspired by great performances from Adam Ali alias ‘Rooney’, who scored two goals, and Brians Sontika as well as Kahindi Kalanguni scoring a goal each. A nimble-footed and skillful Kalanguni was a menace to the Ong’icha defense and managed to scoop the tournament’s most Valuable Player title.

Coach’s Strategy

Junior Nyabuto, the team coach, attributed the win to players playing to his strategic instructions and fanned the fans appetites with their brand of total football. “The boys played as per my instructions and entertained fans with total football,” said Nyabuto reflecting on the disciplined yet dynamic approach.

Support from Leadership

The team’s success and title journey was further boosted by school principal Daniel Murumbe, whose support proved very key for the team’s succeeding to the title.

Controversy and Appeal

As the celebrations went on, Ong’icha filed an appeal against Sameta for allegedly using an ineligible player. Kisii County Secondary Schools Sports Association secretary Geoffrey Nyantika said the appeal would be heard by the county’s education director Phillip Chirchir, next week.
