The Ministry of Education has instructed school heads nationwide to submit their requests for the prioritized Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) Repair, Maintenance, and Improvement (RMI) Projects Fund for the Financial Year 2023/2024.
Directive in Migori County
In Migori County, Director of Education Jacob Onyiego directed Sub-County Directors to ensure the approval process for the fund, sourced from Free Secondary Education (FSE) funds, is completed by June 31, 2024.
Required Documentation
School heads must attach several documents with their requests:
- Acknowledgment letter receipts to Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang
- Request letter for approval/forwarding letter
- Bill of quantities (BQs)/material schedule
- Architectural drawings
- JSS committee minutes
- BOM minutes
- School Improvement Development Plan (SIDP)
- Latest bank statement
- Photocopies of the status of existing projects
- Certificate of practical completion/status report for 2022/2023 projects
- NEMIS printout
Approval Process
The memo further requests school heads to inform the office of the dates when Approval Committees will convene to review the proposals and to invite the County Project Coordinator to the meeting. Both soft and hard copies of approval letters must be forwarded to the County Director of Education’s Office by June 31, 2024.
