Shinyalu Constituency MP Fred Ikana inaugurated a state-of-the-art computer laboratory at Mukhonje Secondary School, a project accomplished through collaboration with the Safaricom Foundation, local friends, and stakeholders from the community.
The newly established lab is equipped with modern computers and high-speed internet, which will enhance the educational facilities manifold for students. MP Ikana emphasized that this was not just providing a facility with computers to the students, adding, “This is laying a foundation for dignified employment opportunities in a digital economy.”.
Looking ahead, MP Ikana envisions a broader initiative by the national government to make more realization of improved connectivity across all wards in the constituency. Already in motion are plans geared toward the establishment of extra computer labs in other schools and community centers, ensuring that more residents can benefit from this digital revolution.
“Access to technology is essential for education and work readiness. And when we connect our communities, we make sure that everyone gets the tools they need to succeed,” Ikana said.
The opening of this lab really generated much excitement among the students and teachers; one of the student representatives said, “We are very grateful for the investment in our education, and this lab is definitely going to change the way we have been learning and preparing for our future.
This initiative, therefore, is going to remain instrumental in raising a generation that is not just savvy with technology but ready and well-placed in the challenges of tomorrow’s workforce.
