All a teacher looking forward to transferring needs to do is follow the simple applying procedure via the TSC online transfer portal. Access the TSC Online Transfer Portal
To apply for transfers, teachers should log in to the TSC online transfer portal using the following link: https://hrmis.tsc.go.ke/tm-app/apply_transfer.
Step-by-Step Application Process
1. Visit the Portal
Using the link provided, that is, TSC Transfer Portal, visit the TSC online transfer application portal.
2. Enter Login Details
- Enter your TSC Number, ID Number, and mobile phone number.
- Click on ‘Login’. This will trigger the sending of a security code via SMS to your mobile phone.
3. Enter Authorization Code
- Enter the six-digit authorization code received via SMS on your mobile number.
- Click ‘Login’ to proceed to the transfer application system.
4. Submit a Transfer Request
- After logging in, the system shall detect whether you are a primary or post-primary teacher.
- Click ‘Submit a Request for Transfer’ for the next step.
5. Fill in Transfer Details
Enter the following information:
- Length of stay at the current school
- Length of stay in the same sub-county
- Reason for transfer
- When the transfer is required
- Preferred County, Sub-County, and School
- Email address
6. Declaration
- Check the declaration checkbox to declare that information provided is true.
- Click ‘OK’.
7. Attach Supporting Documents
- In case of transfer due to insecurity and medical, attach the supporting documents by clicking on ‘File Attachment(s)’.
- Select and upload the document.
- Enter remark and click ‘OK’.
8. Submit Application
- View mapped application details and attachments.
- Click ‘Submit’.
9. Log Out
- After submitting the application form, log out from the system.
Reasons for Transfer
You can always choose from this list when applying for transfer and then provide evidence as may be required:
- Aging Parents: This is when one wants to be near elderly parents.
- Insecurity: On grounds of unsafe working conditions.
- Join Spouse: When one wants to join his/her spouse working/living in a different station.
- Medical Condition: Due to personal health issues.
- Child’s Medical Condition: Health complication of a child.
- Overstaying: After staying in the same station for several years.
Head of Institution (HOI) Recommendations
After submitting the transfer application, it shall require the recommendation of your Principal or Head Teacher. The HOI can do it in either way:
Option 1: Email Notification
- Open the email notification from TSC.
- Click the link provided to proceed.
- Enter comments as Head of Institution.
- Click ‘Submit’.
Option 2: HOI Portal
- Go to the TSC website www.tsc.go.ke, select ‘Online Services’, then ‘HRMIS’, and click on ‘Teacher Transfer’.
- Input your TSC Number, ID Number, and Mobile number, then click ‘Login’.
- Input the six-digit authorization code sent to your mobile.
- The HOI portal will list incoming transfer requests.
- Click ‘Action’ to advise on the transfer and add comments.
- Click ‘Submit’.
How to Check the Status of Your Transfer Application
You can check your application status online:
- Log in to your account on the TSC portal.
- The status of your transfer application will be on your dashboard upon opening it.
- TSC will further send updates via email.
