The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) offers a range of base salaries for C2 teachers based on their degrees and experience. Some teachers may qualify for additional benefits beyond their base salary, but within certain limits.
Who qualifies for C2 Grade?
The TSC C2 grade applies to newly registered teachers with a bachelor’s degree in education, typically hired for their first year teaching secondary school. The commission categorizes C2 teachers into seven salary levels, each with its own base pay scale.
Promotions from C2:
It’s important to note that a diploma-holding teacher with three years of experience under TSC as a C1 teacher can be promoted to C2. However, university graduates entering at C2 don’t require additional years of service to be eligible for promotion. Teachers with a diploma and C2 grade need to pass a promotional interview to move to C3. Conversely, promotion is automatic for a C2 teacher with a university degree after three years of employment.
Current C2 Teacher Salary Scale:
C2 teachers received a significant salary increase following the implementation of the collective bargaining agreement (CBA). The TSC categorizes C2 teachers into seven salary levels, each with its own base salary.
