TSC Names Successful Applicants for 13 Director Positions

Successful applicants for the 13 director positions to be deployed either at the regional or county offices have been announced by the Teachers Service Commission. This is a very highly sought-after position, with over 50 Sub-County Directors and Deputy Directors having been interviewed for the same position.

They will be promoted from P to R. Among the promoted ones are deputy directors serving at TSC headquarters and others serving in the field. Notable field promotions include the current Kericho County TSC director Milton Oyugi, Vihiga Deputy Director Erick Magak and Migori Deputy Director Carol Nandi. Others promoted include Everlyne Chemjor, the current Tongaren SCD in Bungoma County and Catherine Nairoshi, the current Kikuyu SCD in Kiambu County. Before the new appointment, Nairoshi was working as a public relations officer at the TSC headquarters.

Those promoted from headquarters include Peter Njeru and Fredrick Mwaniki from the Staffing Directorate, Cecilia Nyawira from the TPD Directorate, Kioko Daniel from the Discipline Department, Evans Esese from the Integrity Division, Dr. Catherine Warui from the TPD Directorate, David Mukui from the Discipline Department, and Fatuma Mursal from the Research and Innovation Unit.

It follows that an advertisement in February by the TSC for 13 positions for the Deputy Director-Teacher Management at the TSC Job Grade 5, as set out in the new Career Progression Guidelines, was attached to the promotion secretariat staff. The appointees would serve for a period of 5 years, renewable with a basic monthly salary scale of Ksh 192,782 to Ksh 288,051 with house and commuter allowances.
