TVET Centenary Celebrations Scheduled at Kabete National Polytechnic

The Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) centenary celebrations, with a theme dubbed “If Education is Key to Employability then TVET is the Master Key,” shall be held at Kabete National Polytechnic from July 29-31, 2024. This will mark a major milestone in the history of vocational education.

According to the Ministry of Education who made an announcement about the conference, July 12 is the deadline for abstract submissions (250-300 words) and July 19 for full papers (up to 3,500 words). PowerPoint slides must be submitted by July 23, 2024.

The target participants are East African students and non-students who have the opportunity to do early registration which is slated to run until July 10 at Ksh 2,500 and Ksh 4,000, respectively. Normal registration fees are Ksh 3,000 for students and Ksh 5,000 for non-students. International participants are expected to pay USD 140 for early registration and USD 150 for normal registration.

The Exhibition fees are Ksh 100,000. Submissions must be in MS Word, with 1.5 line spacing, font size 12, and APA reference format. Papers for exhibitions can be in English or Kiswahili.

With the TVET sub-sector celebration of the 100-year success, the journey began with a TVET torch relay launched by President Ruto on March 26 at Nyeri National Polytechnic. This marked one of the milestone achievements in the promotion of vocational education and training.
