Kitelakapel Technical Training Institute has done very well within science and drama departments, beating off other TTI colleges to qualify for the upcoming regional competitions. This goes to show their balance in academics and co-curricular activities.
Triumph in Drama and Football
The Kitelakapel TTI had recorded precious performances in drama and football during the championship, with the two disciplines earning them accolades and the opportunity to represent their region at a higher level. This achievement is a testament to the institute’s total commitment to the provision of holistic education—to make students great in academics and co-curricular activities.
Commendation from Leaders
Area Member of Parliament Samuel Moroto thanked the college for its holistic approach towards learning. He added that the college was under the stewardship of Principal Sammy Cheruiyot Chirchir, who has managed to make the entire college fraternity craft sound academic and non-academic programs that have been able to attract over 700 students from all over the country. Moroto said the college has played a key role in changing the area economically with the tremendous improvement, definitely noting that it was courtesy of Kitelakapel TTI.
“The improvements brought into the community by Kitelakapel TTI are so remarkable,” said Moroto. “Both the academics and co-curricular take a center stage in the life of the students and have really given a very strong boost to the economy of the natives.”
Academic and Co-Curricular Excellence
Kitelakapel TTI offers a diversified range of courses, supported by a team of 39 lecturers; the institute has ten different programs that range from agriculture, social work, and secretarial studies to ICT, electrical engineering, building and construction, and fashion and design. In order to offer a wider perspective, the institute has diversely designed curricula for the institution with practical skills in those various professions.
Future Plans and Improvements
David Alukulem listed the plans he has to enhance the institution further. For example, having a good number of computers, clean water in the institution, and plans to acquire a school bus. As he believes, these improvements will support the students and staff in their operations, thereby guaranteeing the smooth running of Kitelakapel TTI.
“The institution is committed to having the best facilities, and the plans are underway. With the support of the Member of Parliament, we are confident that this will be achieved,” Alukulem says, further boosting the quality of education and training at Kitelakapel TTI.
